鈥淭he IMO Sulphur cap鈥� is the popular name of the new Annex VI of the MARPOL Convention. From the 1st of January 2020 ships are allowed to burn fuels with Sulphur content of 0.50% m/m only, except if 鈥渆quivalent鈥� compliance mechanisms are installed such as scrubbers.

In order to comply, Shipowners and operators need to take precautionary measures and plan the transition as thoroughly as possible.
