Negotiating and rethinking the future: What do I have to do with it?
When procuring products, universities are guided by the budgetary and procurement laws of the respective federal states, especially with regard to procurement procedures. The procurement practices of individual universities and, in many cases, of municipalities show that ecological and social criteria can be easily integrated at various points in the procedures. A study by Fairtrade Germany on fair purchasing at universities also made it clear that procurers are generally open to sustainable purchasing - provided certain framework conditions are met. In addition to demand from users, this also includes support and advisory services for tenders as well as backing from the university management and politicians.
We cordially invite you to an exchange on sustainability in procurement processes, awareness-raising in academia and scope for political framework conditions.
Objective: In working groups, we want to take a closer look at internal university decisions in this regard, discuss communication structures and needs, and record measures through networking.
The event is part of the dialogue series "Zukunft fairhandeln & neu denken" of the Fair Trade City of Hamburg and is a cooperation with Fairtrade Germany.
