µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï graduate Tobias Janning receives the Hanseatic Society's sponsorship award for his Bachelor thesis

Every two years, the Hanse Association, which is committed to the freedom of spirit, opportunity and trade, awards the Hanse Prize and the Promotion Prize in the Hamburg Museum.

On Monday, 5 November, the Hanse Association presented this year's awards. The prize winner was Dr Cecilia Malström, EU Commissioner for Trade, Brussels. In addition to this award, the Hanseatic League's sponsorship prize was also awarded: It went to µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï student Tobias Janning, who is completing his dual studies at the µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï cooperation company Nordic Hamburg Shipmanagement. In his outstanding Bachelor thesis, he investigated the use of hydrogen as a marine fuel and found that commercial use is much quicker than expected. For this purpose, he analysed extensive primary data and evaluated them in several scenarios.

The greeting of the award ceremony was given by the First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Dr Peter Tschentscher. The laudation for the prize winner was held by Dr Thomas Mirow, the laudation for Tobias Janning by µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï Professor Dr Max Johns. The µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï Band accompanied the ceremony and were awarded with enthusiastic applause of all guests.

Tobias Janning completed his Bachelor's degree in Maritime Management at µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï in September of this year.
