µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï Business Talk with Silke Grimm, CFO and member of the Board of Management, Euler Hermes Deutschland

7 September 2021, 5:00 p.m.

As a market leader, how do you manage digital and cultural transformation in parallel with operational challenges? This is one of the most important questions Silke Grimm deals with on a daily basis. As CFO and member of the Board of Management of the credit insurer Euler Hermes Deutschland, she plays a key role in the changes with which the Allianz subsidiary is making itself fit for the future.

The challenges are many: customer needs are changing. Digitalization is changing the way we interact with clients and enabling new ways of assessing risk using machine learning and AI. Corporate culture is changing dramatically - away from suits, ties and paper files to sneakers, agile working, a "Duz" culture and flat hierarchies. A new generation of young university graduates expects more sustainability and a contemporary, flexible working environment from attractive employers. This is one of the reasons why Euler Hermes moved from its 80s high-rise to a brand new office in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld last year. Open space, clean desk policies and creative spaces were new territory for many employees, as was working from a home office, which has become the new normal for insurance companies since the start of the pandemic.

How can such extensive transformations be successfully managed? What role does the "run and change" principle play in this?

Silke Grimm, who studied at µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï's predecessor institution and is a member of the µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï's Board of Trustees, will talk about this, among other things, at the µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï Business Talk on October 27.
